2024 Volkl Racetiger SL R FIS Ski w Plate
Slalom racers in about the U14 and U16 race levels will love the stability, power, and predictability of the Volkl Racetiger SL R FIS skis with plate.
Why we like it:
Any time you’re putting World Cup technology into a ski, we’re going to like it for just that reason. Volkl has a lot to lean on in terms of race heritage, and they put a lot of it into the SL R.
Who it's for:
If you’re a competitive slalom skier at the high school level, you’ll need a sturdy and trusty ski for race day. The SL R FIS fits that description quite nicely. You have already accomplished a lot in y our young racing career, but now you’re looking to take it to the next level.
Highlights:
With a multi-layer wood core consisting of poplar and beech, as well as a full titanal layup, these skis are built to rock the firmest and tightest courses out there. They have a full camber profile and are specifically built to handle icy snow, narrow gates, and high speeds.
Things to consider:
This is a very specific tool for a very specific job. As a result, the SL R will not be as fun or as playful if you’re looking for a general front side ski, even if you’re a fan of shorter carves. There’s definitely a very specific race component going on here. We recommend consulting your race coach for proper sizing information.
